Christmas is....

on Monday, December 22, 2008

Christmas is the time to remember that God reached out to mankind by sending His son to be born in a manger. It is the time to remember that the greatest gift ever given was God's gift of His son; that the story that started in Bethlehem would end in Calvary; that by His birth, light entered the world and by His death and resurrection, hope and reconciliation with God. It is a time of celebration of God's love gift.

It is a time for people to come together and even in celebration, reach out and share love with others.

It is a time to reflect thankfully of all that we have and remember those less fortunate.

Christmas is a time to think of others and pray that their Christmas are as good as possible.
"Doing to the least of these" as the bible states.
I have never heard that song before. I enjoyed it very much. Have a very Merry Christmas.

That last one was funny and a little freaky - I had to show it to my kids.

Metty Christmas, Squirrel!

Merry Christmas, LGS. Thanks for the remeinder, as amongst all the hype and commercialization and even (I'll say it if no one else will) naked greed, the true reason behind Christmas is often dropped like a dirty diaper.

Thank you, LGS, for reminding us about faith and hope and devotion at a very difficult time in the world for so many! God bless you!

Joyce,
Which song were you referring to? I'm guessing "Mary Had a Baby" by Bruce Cockburn. Glad you liked it. Christmas is so joyful for those able to rest in God's love but can be so cold for those standing outside who have not yet discovered His love. Blessed Christmas.

Janice,
Blessed Christmas to you! Glad you liked that last one. :)

Ruth,
Have a merry and blessed Christmas.

CZ,
Whatever must your kids think of the poor squirrel when you only show them all the silly things I put up?!? Have a blessed Christmas.

blackcrag,
Someone had to say it and you said it well. Despite all the fluff and commercialisation, I wish you a truly warm and blessed Christmas.

squirrelmama,
It is indeed a difficult time for many. I hope you are not badly affected. At any rate, those of us who are able to freely rejoice this season should bring cheer to those who are burdened. Have a blessed Christmas.
