This is just a short post to mark my father's passing. After a short illness, at 6.20 pm on Wednesday the 3rd of October, he drew his last breath and peacefully went to be with the Lord. He was 93. He was alert and aware until the last moments and experienced little pain. All his children were able to come to see him before he passed on. God has indeed been gracious. The whole family will be busy with funeral arrangements for the next couple of days.

May your father rest in the love of his God.
Another soul leaves us behind. I'm very sorry for your loss, but happy for his long life and peaceful passing. Take care.
Difficult.
Be good to yourself.
I'm so sorry for your loss. You were indeed a lucky man to have your father be in your life for such a long time. What a blessing.
With complete empathy and admiration for your family and who your father must have been, I send you my condolences. It is lovely that he passed so well and surrounded by such love.
All the best.

My sympathies LGS on the loss of your father. Sounds like he had a very blessed life and blessed passing to be with our Lord.
How wonderful your father went home in peace surrounded by loved ones. You are in my thoughts Calvin.
I am sorry for your loss. I wish there were good words to help at this time - there aren't. Just know that I'm thinking of you.
My thoughts are with you. Be well.
I'm very sorry to hear of your father's passing.
From the short piece you wrote here, it seems he lived his life well, and was much loved.
A peaceful passing, with time to say goodbye to our loved ones.. no one can ask for a better way to go.
LGS,
Calvin, your LGS name has never struck me as sad before, but I remember the lonely feeling I had when my father died. I appreciate the spirit of praise and gratitude you have expressed here. I'll never forget the sense of "reunion" we had during the three days of my father's funeral in 1995. There is incredible peace in that hug of grief you now share. I'm thankful that they have you during these days and for the days to come.
i am so sorry to hear of your father's passing, but am glad he didn't suffer much pain, and that He's with the Lord. my prayers go out to your and your family.
Calvin, please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family. He had a long live and lots of love. I wish there was more I could say to help you feel better.
Josie
I am so sorry Calvin, but so blessed that you had him for so many years.

I just read the news, on FLOW.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, dear friend.
93 and got to see all of his children at the end. What a lucky man he was! I hope you have a great celebration of his life.
My sincere condolences to you. It sounds like he lived a long & full life but passing is still hard, no matter the age. Praise that he is in heaven with his Lord and that he has left a living legacy of faith & strength that I see in you. Prayers for you & your family during these next days!

thanks for the words of encouraging words. pray especially for my mother. Thank you.
93 is a noble number. I am thinking of you LGS.
Oh my gosh, LGS. You know that I know exactly what you're going through now. Even though we are sort of prepared for our parents' passing, it is still a very painful experience to go through. Your Dad lived to be a great age, 7 years longer than my Dad, who as you know passed away 10 days before yours. As my Dad did not want any "service" we are doing a celebration of his life on Oct. 11 and it will be sort of like the reception after the funeral. I think he's like that. I'm sure you are very busy right now (as we have been) with all the "busyness" of things. My heart goes out to you and your family and please accept my sincere sympathies and condolences. God bless you all.
Sweetie, I'm so sorry. Big hugs. Take care of yourself.
I'm sorry he's gone from the earth, but what a blessing to have such a peaceful end with loving family. And he's still here-- the mystery, but true.
Thank you for all your kind wishes to Uncle and our family. My grandpa was a man of few words, yet he made an impact in the lives of his family as well as those who have known him. Your prayers are much appreciated for granny as it has been hard for her. Pray that God would fill her loneliness with His love and comfort. We will all miss him but we know he is waiting for us in a better place.
leslie (USA),
93 is the life span for the good and righteous, they say.
leslie (Canada),
Indeed I remember your own loss not too long ago. We were both blessed that we had time to prepare. In the end I was still surprised at the suddenness of his death and had regrets that I could have spent the final days better than rushing about being "busy". To have been more Mary and less Martha, if you know what I mean.
jay,
thanks very much.
ruth-d,
We are indeed blessed for such a peaceful end.
Adelym....
I join my neice in thanking you for all your kind words and good wishes.
My condolences to you and your family...You take care!
Peace
Your father had a long life and will be greatly missed I am sure. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your father.
