I called! I called! Squirrelly slavery MUST END!

:)

OMG, I loved that scene in the movie. Everytime my daughter wants to make me laugh she says "Mummy, I want that squirrel!" in her fake Brit accent.
Sorry ya gotta work Squirrel. My backyard squirrels are at work right this minute quarreling with the blue jays and they are all making a huge ruckus. Squirrels are busy all over the planet it seems.

That is horrible. I am making ,my save the squirrel signs now. It just can not continue.

Ha ha ha ha! What movie is this from? I have to see it!

Come and read my trilogy of poems about animal rescues. One is a squirrel!

Hmmm I am going to invest in nut mines!

Are you having as much fun as those squirrels seem to be having??

Someone: pls fill us ignorants in on this scene.

Claudia,
Thanks. I knew that I could count on you.

claire,
It has been a looooong and unpleasant week in the mines. Yup, lot of quarrels with the blue jays here too. It's a great scene though, isn't it. Apparently they actually trained squirrels for that sequence.

dr. john,
Thanks, every bit counts for squirrel freedom.

kat,
It's a scene from the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" starring Johnny Depp.

msw,
O, Canada, home to free grey squirrels...... I replied your email saying that you now know what to get me for Christmas.....but it better be thermals if I am going to visit in Paradise.

meggie,
Well, thank you but sadly I am feeling a little under appreciated at work at the moment.

molly and pam,
If you haven't seen this sequence, you really must do. It is done by trained squirrels and is really quite funny as well as amazing how they got the squirrels to do the sequence. It is from the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate factory."

mark,
if you invest in nut mines, you will become an example of the greedy capitalist neo-colonialists who are the enemy of free squirrels everywhere.

violetsky,
This is a scene from the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" in which trained squirrels are checking for bad nuts before they are used in making chocolates. Quite hilarious.

Janice Thomson said...

OH my goodness where do you find this stuff LOL That is downright hilarious. Ok now I know - have not seen that movie but must make an attempt to. :)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Oh, no. That's no way to treat a squirrel.

Why is there always some nut in charge?

Joyce's Ramblings said...

What a way to make a living in a mine? Do they have Dumbo fly over to keep the line going?
There are days when that picture looks like a fairly true picture of my days.

Hope the squirrels get free soon.

Lone Grey Squirrel said...

janice,
It is a whimsical story which I think was written by Roald Dahl, the famous writer of children's stories.

heart,
Not just a nut in charge but .....a bad nut!

Lone Grey Squirrel said...

joyce,
it's no fun in the nut mines. See how the squirrels' tails are all drooping down.

From one squirrel lover to another..great photo..is there a trick here?
Squirrels around here run through gardens and woodlands gathering nuts.

That is such a great photo! (Believe it or not, I had to stop mid-comment when my son dropped his gerbil on me.) Anyway, srory your being forced to work this weekend. Hope you get a breaksoon.

Lone Grey Squirrel said...

naturegirl,
Thanks for coming by and also for leaving a comment. The photo is a still from a movie, "Charlie and the Chocolate factory" which in turn is based on a Roald Dahl children's book. I do not know the details but they apparently trained squirrels for this scene in which they sit on these chairs and take the nuts out of the shells.

CZ,
thanks. I like how your boys are so close to nature. Don't blame the gerbil! :)

OMG, it looks like the boss is having ALL OF YOUR work YOUR TAILS OFF!! Hang in there, LGS!

VioletSky said...

I bet you thought everyone would recognize that scene! Thanks. Hadn't seen the newer version.

My 7Wonders journey is done. And I've a reward for your inspiration on mine, so when you are taking a break from working, gather your nuts and wander by.

Jo said...

That reminds me of the civets that eat the coffee beans and poop out coffee that sells for $500 a pound. So do those little squirrels poop out peanut butter?

Lone Grey Squirrel said...

squirrelmama,
Squirrel tails are not meant to droop like that.

violetsky,
yes, I did think people would recognise that scene...haha. Thanks for the award. Such a nice thing to get.

jo,
sometimes your imagination is even more warped than mine! :)

Odat said...

OK...I called e'one I know...Did it work?

Marja said...

Evalinn said...

Lone Grey Squirrel said...

odat,
Thank you for calling for help. We were freed but it was too late for me. The ordeal made my hair turn grey......oh,wait. I guess it was already grey before!

marja,

evalinn,
Nice to have you back.
