Blow Off the Candles and Make a Wish

on Thursday, January 04, 2007

It seems like a statistical impossibility but three ladies (a significant portion of the sample population) whose blogs I read frequently all have had a birthday in the week on either side of the new year. These three ladies are further linked because they all love nature and all have a passion for a particular animal (which strangely has nothing to do with cute squirrels but then there's no accounting for taste).

Anyway, in a celebration of nature's wonders and your birthdays, please accept these simple greetings from your totem animals.

Atlas Moth from Malaysia (World's largest moth)

Elephant Festival (India)

Canis lupus (Grey Wolf; North America)

I am thrilled! You have so blessed me! Thank you ever so much.

By the way, a friend of mine is known as the Audubon of Moths...a great artist and man. His website is down right now....
So I must post some photographs from his art exhibit I attended last year on my trip to Kansas last May.

Omigosh, that is WONDERFUL. It so happens I love elephants. I'm always amazed at their wonderful sense of community and how much they are like people.

You know, I watch the grey squirrels scampering in the trees outside my tree house, and they play just like human children. They seem almost to laugh.

Thank you so much for that.

Cheers,
Josie

I think that you're a lovely man. My birthday is in June.

I am especially taken with the wolf photo because I had a grey wolf named Baby for 13 years who traveled around the country with me, slept on my bed, and was the other side of my soul.

Happy birthday, all.

kat,
my pleasure. its a small thing. After visiting your site and seeing all the wonderful paintings of the atlas moth ..... my picture really pales by comparison.

josie,
my pleasure also. You mentioned your love for elephants before, that's why I looked for an elephant picture.

kimber,
its just a small gesture. hope you like it. The first animal I was passionate about was in fact the wolf. I will be on a look out for your book here in Malaysia. Thank you for wishing "frisky squirrels" for me. Ha Ha!

tai,
enjoy your blog. I like your photography and am intrigued by the sword. thanks for your comments.

Le nightowl,
welcome back. I immediately visited your new patriotic blog and left my paw prints there.

hearts,
My goodness. Your kind words are rather excessive and makes me blush. It is but just a simpe gesture. Thanks for sharing about Baby. "The other side of your soul"....that's just so beautiful.
