I was just checking out your gravestone blog from the other day! I was wondering if you have ever checked out the grave stones in Louisiana, USA? Because New Orleans, Louisiana is below sea level, they have to bury their dead above ground. Thought you might be interested! Have a great day!
nancycle, Hi there, Wonder Mom. Thanks for dropping in. Wicker Bears look creepy when they begin to rot.
dave, Thanks for info. I've never been to Louisiana. I'd love to visit New Orleans. Any idea what happened to the graves during the recent floods? I like the small gravesites like the one you featured cause its somehow more personal. Do you know what I mean or am I just weird?
I tried to comment on your post yesterday, but Beta booted me out... sigh.
When I was a little girl my Dad used to take me to visit a graveyard that was bounded on four sides by a forest. It was very mysterious, but the graveyard well well-kept. I used to love reading the names on the tombstones. I understand, though, that the area around it has all been developed now.
